IAAI regains commission for IATA Agents,23-05-2010 One association in particular, the IATA Agents Association of India (IAAI) challenged the “zero-airlines” and filed a lawsuit in the High Court of Kerala in February 2009 for not complying with Rule 135 (Tariff) of the archaic Aircraft Rules, 1937 and reinstating five percent agency commission on gross fare.Click here to read more

1. To safeguard the interests of the travelling public and keep a ethical standard within the travel trade .

2. To promote social life by providing a social ground for members and their families and foster the spirit of co operation, understanding, fraternity, goodwill and fellowship amongst the members of travel and tourism industry .

3. To provide training to the members and improve their overall competence level .

4. To work closely with the airlines, other affiliated bodies and relevant government bodies to promote travel and tourism .

5. To lead a process of change to better prepare the members to face challenges of the current and future business environment in the travel and tourism .

6. To set and regulate standard and practices to be maintained by members so as to establish highest ethical and disciplinary standards . To act as arbritrators and otherwise to assist in the settlement of disputes and difficulties arising amongst members or in connection with the travel and tourism trade .

7. To act as a negotiating body for members and to make recommendations to the relevant governmental bodies to promote travel and tourism .
